BONNIE RICHARDSON , MA
Academic Director
Bonnie has 10+ years of experience working in secondary schools and universities. Bonnie earned her Masters in Critical & Cultural Theory from Cardiff University in the U.K. and her B.A. in Interpersonal Communication from the University of Central Florida. Bonnie’s time teaching abroad has only further enriched her time in the classroom where she enjoys teaching English and tutoring in mathematics.
FLAT CREEK FACULTY

Carol Sowers
Academic Director
Before joining the Flat Creek faculty at Timbersong, Carol was an Assistant Principal at the Islamic Saudi Academy in DC where she also taught IB History. She holds a B.A. in History and an M.Ed. in Education with an emphasis on Curriculum and Instruction. Carol has worked in a variety of educational settings including as an autism paraprofessional, an ESL teacher, and a dorm parent. Her combined experiences have helped her strengthen her passion for education and informed her educational philosophy.

BEN CHAMBERLAIN
Academic Director
Ben began teaching with Timbersong in the summer of 2014, and cannot imagine himself anywhere else. His previous work experience includes working in therapeutic outdoors programs as well as teaching math and psychology in traditional settings. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary Mathematics. Ben believes that in each child is a wellspring of unique potential, and is committed to finding ways for these potentials to be realized.” In his free time, Ben enjoys running, playing soccer, contra dancing, and computer programming.
